News Limited has appointed former Virgin Mobile Marketing Rob Nolan newly created role to the Director of brand & marketing retention of subscription.
In his new position, Nolan will be responsible for creating and implementing a strategy to increase newspaper subscriptions and fidelity of the reader.
Nolan resigned as head of the Virgin Mobile brand & earlier this month after just five months in the role of relationship marketing.
Group Marketing Director News Limited, Joe Talcott, said: "I am happy to Rob is joining our team. He is a top marketers who really understands the importance of building strong customer relationships.We'll put his talent to good use as we try to grow the phone numbers of all our are. "
Nolan has 10 years of experience managing large brands and subscriber bases in the mobile industry and telco, previously working for BT Cellnet and O2 in London and Vodafone in New Zealand.
He said: "I am very excited about my new challenge at News Limited. convergence of traditional and new media presents significant opportunities to attract new subscribers on multiple platforms."
Nolan will report to Talcott and begins at the end of November.
