With the feedback I received from my previous article “Nine Steps To Your Dream Business,” I am publishing an excerpt found in Chapter IV from my recent book Is Franchising For You? on self-evaluation. Honesty with oneself is the start of a successful business endeavor. I believe in the time-tested adage “You cannot give what you do not have.” Honesty with others and with our business dealings start with self-honesty. It is therefore crucial that an interested franchisee undergoes self-examination to clarify issues important to franchising.

The Franchise Suitability Test

As an initial step to self-evaluation, you can take this test to determine your potential as a franchisee. As I have said many times before, franchising is not for everyone. Take this test as an indicator and not necessarily the end to your quest at becoming a franchisee. Choose the letter of each statement which suits you.
