Around the net in Online Marketing: Android reigns King of mobile platforms

Another day, another batch of mobile OS market research. The latest from Nielsen finds that Android has continued the strong growth this past quarter, showing once again how progress has maintained its position as the top domestic smartphone platform. "Android is located at the top of the list again with 39% of the market," reports Boy Genius Report, citing new data market share Q2 smartphone by Nielsen.

IOS Apple remained in second place with 28%, followed by Blackberry-maker RIM, which slipped to 20% in the second quarter. "Windows Mobile and Windows Phone combined to take the 9% market share, while webOS and Palm OS combined to account for only 2% of the market," notes BGR.
