TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire-October 31, 2010)-hundreds of workers Delta Chelsea, their children and Community supporters will celebrate a very special Halloween picket lines today, Sunday 31 October, starting at 7: 30 a.m. A number of special guests will join the picket line at 12: 30 PM.
Rulers, dishwasher, server, cooks, room service staff and others, most of whom are immigrants, will be joined by skeletons, ghosts, Goblins as well asa certain masked "special guest", to underline how alarming modest requests management of workers has been answered.

"You know that most of us retire into poverty?" asks the EulaMarcos, who works as an operator of room at the Delta Chelsea. "It is very scary. we work 20, 30, 40 years for this hotel and, then, in the end we injuries and no money to live well."

Yesterday, local 27 President Mike Yorke Carpenter's Union announced its full support and solidarity with the workers of Delta Chelsea. Members have joined the picket lines and leafleted guests urging them to stay elsewhere. 27 Local combines a long and growing list of organizations and individuals pledging maximum support for the workers of the hotel and the Union in the course of negotiations.
More than 500 workers went on strike 27 October 2010.
Delta operates Delta Chelsea Hotel, as well as the Delta Toronto East and Delta Airport West, both of which are also in negotiations with local 75 United here.
Negotiations with the hotel broke down last week. key issues for workers include workloads safer, economic security and protection of stable jobs full time.
75 Local represents over 7000 hotel, hospitality and workers in the greater Toronto area.
